Shirotori Garden (白鳥庭園) is a ten minute walk from Atsuta Shrine. The garden is 3.7 hectares of rivers, ponds and plants. Shirotori Garden is the perfect setting for a family outing or a date.
When you first enter, you arrive at a large pond with lots of koi fish, ducks and turtles. For 50 yen, you can buy food to feed the fish.
There’s a small restaurant called Shioiri-tei, where you can stop for lunch or a snack and watch the fountains. They offer a delicious bean curry or kishimen, a local specialty.
There are winding paths to be explored and rivers to be crossed on hopping from rock to rock, surrounded by the sound of running water. There’s a small bamboo grove to explore too.
Shiratori Garden also has several seasonal events including illumination events at night.
Admission costs 300 yen for adults. The park is accessible from Atsuta Station (JR) or Jingu Mae (Meitetsu).
