Mt. Daibosatsu
The summit isn't exciting, but just before it there's a rocky area where you can sit and see Mt Fuji.

Mt. Daibosatsu (大菩薩嶺) is located roughly 75 km outside Tokyo and is one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains. I decided to head to Mt. Daibosatsu for two reasons. There's a campsite at the trailhead (上日川峠 / 500 yen), and we could get an early start in the morning. The second reason is that the hike is an easy 8 km piston, making it child-friendly. We were down by lunch, and my kids were excited to play Ojira Canyon (尾白川 堰堤 to be exact).

Sun through the trees at dawn.
Can this be climbed?!
Pushing onward...
Nothing beats catching a rare cicada you can't find in Tokyo after a hike.
